The car hasn't even been to the dealer yet, and she's ready to get rid of it? So she's had some noises and warning lights. Yes it could be better, but I wouldn't call it serious problems. The dealer will fix it and she doesn't have to pay for it. What's the big deal? She didn't stall out in traffic like all the Audi owners with bad coils, or had a complete engine melt-down (BMW M3) or AWD/tranny failure (AUDI) etc etc.
Tell her that if she wants something better than a very basic econobox she won't escape having the occasional repair.
