There seems to be a little more leg room and head room in a 9-3 vs a 9-5. The 9-5 feels more spacious because of the lower dash, no SID at the base of windshield as in the 9-3, but the really big folks seem to find more room in the 9-3.

The handling AND ride is a whole 'nother level. Traditional Saab folks, me included, aren't fond of the dash, but non-Saab folks of which there are about 5 times as many coming to look now with the new styling, generally really like the dash. There were some pictures of the ExoticWoodDash.com for the new 9-3SS that even made me feel right at home as I have the aftermarket wood in my '96 900SE and it looks fabulous still.

THE PRICE is very competitive with the segment. BMWs, MBs, Volvos and Audis can all sticker for considerably more AND they don't offer near the incentives for lease or purchase OR for another 2 days, the 0% for 60 months. And the base 9-3 Linear undercuts the all. It's not much of a secret anymore that a base 9-3 Linear stickers at $26,575 with an incredible level of standard equipment AND a $2,500 incentive OR 0% for 60 months OR $299 for a 36 month lease with just $1,499 down. The $299 with just $1,499 down is thousands lower than the competition and the Saab is more car too!

Not appreciating a fine European car vs a Japanese car is no sin, just a point of view.

And liking a 9-5 Aero with 250hp vs a Vector with just 210hp is OK with me and certianly worth the $4,000ish more, for the Aero Academy alone, if you fit in it.
