I've had to go back to TireRack a couple times. Including my brothers, we've probably bought 15 sets of tires & maybe 6 sets of rims there over the years.
Once they must have messed up the mounting machine & bent my new rim. They got me a new one, I didn't have to fight about it... But I noticed it when putting it on the car. When I sent it back it still had adhesive (from the stickers) on the tread. So there was no question about potholes.
Once I bought directional snow tires mounted on steelies. All 4 were mounted for the RH side of the car(!!) They told me to go to a local shop to remount/rebalance. I mailed that receipt to them & they credited my charge card.
Basically, both times they were good to work with. I'm not gonna stop shopping there. But I rotate my own tires, and I've only rarely needed to re-balance anything. So I'll probably keep mail-ordering. But once in a while I'll see local places advertise sale prices that are as good or better than TireRack...
