I disagree 100% with Dean who recently posted that sharp edges were not necessary with the DI system for full performance.
I just replaced my plugs with BRAND NEW NGK BCPR6ES-11 plugs. Gapped to 0.037" and torqued to 20 ft lbs after comparing them with regapped plugs with approx 20,000 total miles on them. The regapped plugs had the "softened" edges that Dean wrote was not necessary with the DI.
I had professed in the past to change your plugs @12-15,000 miles for performance reasons.
With all due respect to DEAN:
BUNK! on the soft edge story he supports!
The new NGK plugs are a STAGGERING DIFFERENCE in a positive manner in performance.
Moral of the story:
Change your plugs @ 15,000 miles --REGARDLESS--- to enjoy the full potential of your engine!!
