Last question first--THe EBC brakes are grrrreat !! No squeals or squeaks. Brake dust apppears to me to be about 1/3 of what the SAAB OE pads would have produced in the same # miles.
The hot weather we had last week here had no effect that I could tell on the EBC brakes.
Now the plugs:
I read your post. I had a set of NGK BCPR6ES-11 plugs that had been in my engine and had been regapped once (to a tight 0.037"). Mileage was approx 20,000 total on these plugs.
I regapped them again to a tight 0.037" --which is really 0.036" as my gap guage was just mic'd --and reinstalled them. But still, the "run" of the car was --in my words--"lumpy".
Idle was not good, and in the hot weather of last week, the car seemed to labor at traffic lights, stop signs, etc. with the ACC/AC running.
So, I put in a brand new set of plugs--yes NGK BCPR6ES-11--gapped to TG's specs of 0.037" and torqued to 20 ft lbs.
WOW!! Dang !! The motor is as sweet as you'd like her to be!
Same gas, same gas station, No Techron added--just a plug swap. All to the same exactness I perform.
FYI:
The old plugs looked ok in color, slightly rounded electrode, no obvious faults in the ceramic---but not as crisp and defined as the new plugs are.
My gap and yours of 0.035" ? as I recall would not be case-and-effect difference in run.
My point, I guess, is two fold---I do feel the sharply defined edges of the copper plug to play a significant role in the performance of the car and secondly, shortening the spark plug change interval to 15,000 miles ( which if you recall I use to profess 12-15,000) would reduc/eliminate the run problems this regapping procedure did not satisfy.
All this gain for only 8 bucks !!
