I cleaned the lens and reflector differently. Once I got the glass lens off, I took it inside and washed it in the sink w/ soap and warm water. Rinse it REALLY well--ANY soap left will leave a residue in no time. For the plastic reflector I used a cleaning solution: a healthy splash of white vinegar (doesn't streak or leave a residue) in a 2-gallon bucket filled w/ warm water. Wrung out the cloth and wiped several times, and then dried it w/ a clean dry cloth until all water spots, etc. were gone.
Also here are the directions that I used to disassemble the headlamp:
The lens is held on by six clips. The outboard upper clip was glued from the factory but is no problem to release with a little "encouragement". Obviously, you have to remove the assembly to do this and it's a little hassle getting it placed again. First remove the turn signal with the single torx screw behind the headlight. This will expose the side mount torx and after removal of the two top screws the assembly will be free.
REMEMBER, all parts -including the reflector- are plastic with the exception of the lens. Be very careful cleaning the reflector - soft cloth and water ONLY as the plating rubs off easily. The cleaning does make it shine like new and, no doubt you will want to do both sides to have a match. This is also an excellent time to replace the W5W bulbs that will more than likely be burnt out.
Good luck.
