Nobody has mentioned it, but the basic 9-3 front suspension is very unstable, and the torque of the Viggen engine and more agressive tires magnify it. The steering feeds back to the driver engine torque, road ruts- any force on the wheels.
Many feel the stock viggen steering and suspension is unacceptable, even dangerous. I just read a review of the Acura with hot 3.5L engine complaining about the same.
Fortunately, Abbott sells the so-called Viggen rescue kit which fixes about 60% of this defect, and moving to Bridgestone Potenza tires fixes another 20%.
The result is an adequate steering feel (worse by far from the stable 9-5's or even my C900's feel), coupled to the fantastic engine. Now my Viggen is a joy, although I still really keep attention to my driving.
In short, the Viggen is not a point and accellerate car; you have to work it pretty carefully. I personally like that.
