Does anyone know if the t8 ecu also communicates when to shift to the 5 speed auto in the 9-3SS? I've got an '03 Arc with the vector wheel/suspension package etc (no vectors available in Canada :( ) and the 5 auto really bugs me - spends way to much time in top gear, always kicking down, and often can't quite find its gear of choice and bounces back and forth. Thank god for the tiptronic (or whatever saab calls it)
Sorry.. ADD kicked in there ..:) my question was.. is the transmission "adaptive" and does it talk to the t-8 to get cues from it. If not, is there a way to trick it into shifting for performance rather than economy? I'm waiting for some reviews on ECU reprogrammings (abott says they'll have a better version in Jan) because after having the Viggen and the standard for three years, the 2.0T auto just doesn't cut it, but I wonder if anyone has a "chip" for the transmission?
