Maybe the Vector is a better direct comparison as it has a sports tuned suspension (the only real mechanical difference between Arc and Vector, rest is interior seats, trim and body kit).

I had a Viggen and now have an Arc with the Sport Suspension. Clearly in the power department the Viggen is a clear winner. The Arc's power delivery though, is more linear throughout its range and the handling (with sports suspension) is better than the Viggen. Also the aerodynamics of the 9-3 SS are better than the Viggen; I personally think the car is more stable at higher speeds. The drag is less; my Viggen used to make body noises at higher speeds(no mechanical problems).

The Arc is more refined and I think both are equally fun to drive, but the Viggen wins in fun because of more power. However, I am waiting for the Trionic 8 ECU upgrades which will give the Arc/Vector a power increase to 255-260 hp and 275+ ft/lb torque. This increase would only be due to an ECU upgrade and sport air filter (no other mods). With this upgrade, I feel the Arc/Vector will be better than the Viggen. Engstrom, Hirch and Maptun have different ECU upgrades and are currently developing the Trionic 8 upgrade.

I think the Viggen seats ruled, but the dash is not as nice as the new 9-3. I also miss the hatch because of overall utility.
