Just took a look at the wastegate and the end of the rod that extends under the aluminum heat shield is not attached to anything.
MO seems to right, as it looks like the clip that holds the wastegate acuator in place has dissapeared.
I still have a few questions:
Will I need to re-adjust the wastegate when I replace the pin?
Also, I have been victim of incurrable boost spikes ever since I got a Stage III ECU. Could this a failing wastegate pin have caused this? I checked my base boost a few weeks ago and it exactly on spec.
Finally, could it be harmful to run the car without the pin?
