We just went through this with our yr2000 9-3, 5 speed. You can find the thread down this page about a week old. We had the same symptoms: check light, no cruise and good power too; the computer increases fuel delivery in limp home, We were in limp home mode. We took it to the mechanic. He reset the throttle body and everything was fine. The only mystery was why had it gone into limp-home mode in the first place since nothing was wrong. It could have been an anomalous reading from any one of dozens of sensors reporting either a temporary or permanent condition. In our case it was the result of plugging the exhaust pipe by backing into a snow bank and temporarily creating an out of spec pressure reading. The point however is that once the car is in limp-home mode you must have the correct tools to do the reset of the computer. Take it to your dealer.
