Perhaps the previous owner replaced, but I have gone almost 20 months, and 40K with no troubles (cross-fingers). Nothing on the Service History printout as being replaced. Maybe it was changed prior to the sale. Unfortunately, that is one of the 'unknowns' of purchasing used.

I am extremely superstituous, so I imagine mine will die in the next few weeks, in the middle of the white stuff (Western New York - Buffalo), and NO, I do not have a spare in the trunk yet (I also am refusing to put on the snows, but might have to this weekend). The only reason I am sharing is that I thought it might help, they SEEM to die in hot climates and summer more often and it "AIN'T" getting any warmer here any time soon, and I am knocking on wood as I type with one hand.

Also, the problem, I am not saying it isn't a problem, could be inflated by the number that post here. Often, the typical 'Poster' is modifying his/her car a bit (could be a factor), and comes here for advice on issues, positive and negative. It is a problem with most surveys - tend to hear more from people with negative thoughts/opinions, since those without the problems don't feel the need to voice their opinion if things are going their way. I know this has been mentioned before, and I really don't want to start any wars, but thought I might bring it up. I guess it is the Analytical side in me, and it IS just one guys opinion.

I might be one of the lucky ones at the other end of the curve. I don't mind though! I did have bent rims though - can avoid potholes, but merciless to poor Highway maintenance.
