This board has been great to me in answering my questions about my “new to me” 2000 9-3 SE. But I have not found much on the subject of tires. Winter is fast approaching and my tires are just about shot. Time to replace. Since this is my first “Non-American” car my natural tendency is to buy a set of good All Season radials. But the offerings in 205/50/16 all seem to be slanted towards the summer radials. Living in the Northeast, I am concerned about traction in the snow. Can I safely buy a good set of all season radials and use them on my Saab or will I suffer a massive degradation in ride, handling, etc.?
Second, as someone on this board pointed out before, the offerings in size 205/50/16 are very limited. It was suggested that one consider the 205/55/16, as there are far more offerings. Again can I use 205/55/16 as a substitute or will I suffer a massive degradation in ride, handling, etc.?
And finally, I would like to hear from the board members what brand of tire they are using and are happy with. Again my main concern would be snow traction.
Thanks...
