You're welcome.
I don't feel that the 6 pt brace is too much for the street. It is better at resisting the tramming effect over the bumpy roads, especially noticeable on acceleration. I strongly agree with GM that the tower braces would be helpful
Yes I did the trans fluid swap too. Actually the dealer did it just before the warranty expired. It's a small thing but worth it. Your car at 30K shouldn't need much for a while. The advice that the others gave is accurate especially regarding plugs, oil etc.
If you search through the 9-3 & performance archives there are a few threads on broken pistons, blown engines. It has been felt or surmized that high crankcase pressure may force some extra cc gasses to blow by the rings, just enough to lean out the mixture and cause pinging/detonation that may aid in causing the broken pistons. Mostly noted in 1999 models before the pistons were changed. Although other years and factors (hi boost, hard driving...etc) should also be considered. The PCV fix from Saab is documented in Genuine Saab's tech library. It's also cheap and easy to do, cheap insurance I think. Others may feel this is a waste of time. Sometimes you can get the dealer to do this under warranty if there is or you can convince them of some oil consumption not related to leaks or seepage. Oh yeah make sure that the head bolts have been retorqued too.
I may end up at scanwest when I finally get around to the LSD install/purchase. Although T. Scandia is closer to me, that's another option.
