Ethics Question about parts dealer (Add your 2 cents) Posted by nathan [Email] (#2249) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nathan) on Wed, 25 May 2005 04:16:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I recently purchased an item from a well known and widely used saab parts dealer. I orderd by internet. Got the price, payed by credit card. Later received an email conferming my purchase, information, and cost. Received the product in a timely fashion a week later. Had to open the box to look at my product and get to the bill. Low and behold the bill is for more than what the internet and email confermation stated. I then wrote to the saab parts dealer and asked why the change in price than originally stated. There response was it cost more to ship to me so i was charged more after the fact. No where did the they say the shipping cost that came up on checkout or in the confermation were estimates. I did not order any special shipping method but excepted to pay what they stated as their shipping charge when i checked out. The package is now open and i can not return the item because i have sense used it. A bill came to alittle over three hundred. (I did not notice the price change until after fitting the part. ) Do i have a right not to pay the change in bill price or try and make then return the difference. If i try to return the product i will have to pay shipping and might have to pay a restoking fee. The change is not of any serious money difference but enough to make me irritated. What do you think?
