Sorry for the delay in getting back. Thanks for the help everyone.
It isn't impedance up front, because I am using 4 ohm speakers in the dash with a sensitivity of 93dB (Infinity reference 3.5 inchers) . The door speakers are a sensitivity of 89 dB. In theory, they should be less responsive to volume increase than the dash speakers. The rears are the only stock speaker, and they are perdictably being drowned out right now.
I have disabled the "loudness" in the head unit. I did that after replacing the dash speakers because they were distorting with it enabled.
Hmm... I have to keep the bass knob twisted almost all the way up to get the dash speakers to sound full enough, but that makes the doors too strong. I don't suppose a phase problem could cause the doors to be having issues? I will probably try checking that out when I get the door panels back off for another round of shoring things up.
I guess what I am after is a way to physically reduce the amount of bass in the doors. Either that or I need to increase the fullness of the dash speakers without using the bass knob too much. How much bass do you guys keep tuned into your setup from the head unit?
