I need to remove the center console (the part in between the front
seats which surrounds the emergency brake lever) in order to retrieve
a small pair of swiss-tool pliers which slipped out of my pocket
and down through the emergency brake slot.
I removed the bolts which hold the rear of the console (took off the
rear ash tray cover, removed the small rear heater vent console),
and most of the console seems to be free to move, but it is held
quite tightly by something in the front, just behind the shift lever.
I am afraid to really pull on it because I don't want to break anything.
Also, I don't want to start prying around there because I don't want
to scuff up the plastic console.
There must be something easy I'm missing, and I'd GREATLY appreciate
some help from anyone out there who has removed that console before.
This is so AGGRAVATING, and I'll be quite glad to get this all
fixed.
Please respond!
Thanks,
Matt
