Great car! Costs a little more than a rice burner to maintain and fix but the tradeoff in style, comfort, and performance is well worth it. And with the info on this board you can find instructions to fix most problems yourself. I've had my '00 9-3SE for almost a year now and love it.

If you can swing it for the price, get an SE. You get a lot more car than the base for only a few thousand more. Automatic climate control (no heater knob issues), power memory seats, leather, high output turbo, bigger wheels, the list goes on. The ride is a little harder due to the sport suspension though. Make sure you drive a base and an SE so you can see the differences because when buying used these cars are very close in price.

Check out the link below for how to check the history of the car. Find out if the car was a lease or trade-in, etc. For this car make sure the 30k service was completed, that's an expensive one. Are you buying from a Saab dealer or independent dealer?
