yes, the bushings ( rubber parts allowing some play between components). They allow some play in the supsension/steering to get a smooth ride but as they age, the play between the supsension arms, struts, steering rack becomes excessive and the car loose its composure over potholes and the steering becomes loose. It often affects high mileage heavy front wheel drive cars like the Saab. Mostly the front is affected but it can happen at the back as well.
My mechanic showed me how much play there was in the wheels of my 9-3 and it was an eye opener !!
There are 6 (3 on each side) bushings in the front. The 2 front bushes on each side of the front arm are often worn out.
The bushing are fairly cheap rubber parts but at least for one of them, it'll take a while to get it out, so labout might not be cheap
