You need to take the center dash facia out and then the speedo cluster.
It is probably the computer part (back side) of speedo cluster that is acting up.
The tricky part could be to find all hidden screws (9 total) for the center dash facia. The radio, all switches and SID has to come out too.
I can't tell you what part of the computer that is failing since I have never dug that far into it but only replaced the back side with a new unit.
The whole speedo cluster sits very close to a steel frame inside dash board and if you drive over potholes, the speedo cluster bangs against that steel frame. I suspect, that's where the sensitive computer parts gets messed up.
Make sure to take a strip of self adhesive plumber foam to line that steel frame before installing the cluster again.
