Headlights, wipers out of synch...DIC???

My 2002 9-3 SE just turned 60000. Got the car with 25000 with no major problems. From the board posts I gather I have had the usual (SID replaced, rear brake lock-up and that's about it). This may be a bit long but please bear with me.
The headlights have been puzzling. After the stock light went out on the driver side I replaced with: both Silverstar-DS lifespan one month, Silverstar again-six weeks this time PS, PIAA-four months DS. Luckily the PIAAs are warranteed for a year so I just replaced them.
While changing the headlights I noticed the passenger side wiper had not parked properly. It seems to be at 10 o'clock or at 2 o'clock. When I turn on the ignition it moves. It seems to be working when I use the washer. I searched the board and what I found is not comforting. Is this a coincidence or the start of more problems?
I keep seeing references to DIC. I'm glad I'm not too familiar with this but can I look forward to being stranded in the near future? I had always heard about reliability issues with SAAB but I took a chance. I really like the car and have been very happy, but the sexy new Audi gets looking better as I wonder if I am going to start having major problems. Any thoughts you all might about the above issues have would be greatly appreciated.
