Your CC could fail at any time with 2 yeas and 20k on it. Failures are obscenely common it appears
In the interim
Open hood, remove fuse box, grab the sprung part of the clutch cable nearest the fire wall and pull the spring mechanism towards the headlights. This will reset the adjuster and should make your clucth cable operate like it was brand new. I would also highly recomend lubricating the mechanism with Si lube by removing the small black plastic cover on your bell housing to the immediate lower-left of the clutch arm and spraying SI lube inside the bellhousing to the right to hit the joint of where the clutch cable arm acuates the clutch. I did this and it was THE best thing I've ever done to my SAAB, my clutchs travel felt much smmother and I'm sure this lessened the wear on the components as a result.
The ole' slide the foot off the clutch trick doesn't do junk for me and I always end up with a bruise on my ankle when my doubled-up return spring snaps the pedal into me.
2 years on a SAAB cable? Like the DIC I keep a spare clutch cable in the spare wheel well. Everyone should. My dear friend MarcfromBoston (on saabnet) lost his CC on storrow drive this week (with no spare)!
Sorry for long post
