There seems to be alot of differing opinions, but I have owned both and I feel that the quality of Thule is much higher. The Yakima racks I have owned had serious quality problems in the long term, such as plastic parts becoming brittle and breaking, and the rubber coatings on the metal parts tearing off under normal use...exposing the metal bars and causing them to rust. I still have Thule attachments which are over 15 years old and they work great. My Yakima parts were toast after 3-5 years.
