I just went to look at the car. I unclipped the grille, and don't see much other than radiator and intercooler. Looking down, you can see the metal of the actual bumper, but there's nothing between that and the intercooler.

However, there is a piece of wire (two wires with common insulation) that emerges from behind the left headlight on the inboard side. The wire loops towards the middle of the car for about 2 inches, and then heads back outboard, where it disappears just below the same headlight. The part that disappears below the light seems loose, and feels like there's something at the end of it that isn't attached to anything. Could this be the missing sensor?

If this is the sensor, what does it look like (so I know I've got the right thing)? What does the mount it's supposed to clip into look like? I don't see anything that looks like an empty mount.

Am I even supposed to be doing this from above the car, or do I need to be working from below to see things correctly?

Thanks for the help - it sounds like I'm on the right track, anyway...
