thanks much to jim and eric, I think we might be able to dig up a voltmeter
got the codes read-- P0171 mix too lean, P1172 idle too high
any thoughts?
replaced some of the vacuum lines but no luck, CEL came right back on.
I watched the screen while the (very nice) guy was watching the o2 sensor, and the wave lines (which I think would be akin to the swinging needle on the voltmeter, right?) showed some spikes and some dragging toward the zero end, although it was working overall, so maybe we'll start with replacing the sensor. Which brings me to my next question . . .
I looked at a Beck Arnley universal 3 wire o2 sensor at the local parts place , does anyone know anything about workability/quality on those, as opposed t ordering one?
