The traditional GM cars my family has owned have been far superior to my always pampered 2001 9-3, with the exception of the '79 diesel Olds. The bad parts on our 2001 models seem to be Saab rather than GM. Unlike many people who post on this board, owners of traditional GM cars don't worry about failures of the ignition system at speed without warning, the info display, sludging, blown head gaskets and entire engines, or with dashboard knobs or pulleys breaking. Our GM cars also depreciated less on a percentage basis. The sooner some of the poorly designed and/or crafted Saab parts can be replaced with more reliable GM-style parts, the better off Saab will be. I wish this wasn't the case since I love my Saab when it works well, but the reality is what it is.
