Connecting them in series will produce 24 volts with the same amps. This would be a bad effect on your car. Everything is designed to run at 12 volts, might damage the computers or radio, and might blow out your bulbs also.
Connecting them in series would keep the same volts, but double your amps. Not sure how this would affect things, maybe it would be OK if you had 2 weak batteries, but if your car starts normally there is no reason to use 2 batteries.
Both cases probably have detrimental effects.
