and is perpindicular to the side of the car -
even on my 97, with aggressive cornering the bushings are falling out at 115k miles, and the car lurches left/right, pops, clicks.
Since the ball joint is built into the radius arm, and new bushings are 100 bucks an arm(50 x 2) 139 for new arms with new bushings AND ball joint(can't replace just that!) is a good deal from EEparts, so I'm relacing both---
I've learned that with all cars with light aluminum arms, they eat up the bushings over time and 100k miles, and the handling suffers faster than others (my RX7 turbo was the same way - replaced those bushings and WOW what a great drive it became) - I do have new strut inserts but not the mounts as mine actually seem fine from above, but I bet once I remove the assemblies I'll be ordering those darn mounts also...

PS the stanchion arm bushings are cheap at 20 each, much cheaper than the arm and easier to repace (also no ball joint) so if you have access to a press it's a better deal to push those if need be - the stock is pretty hard and holds up better than the radius bushings, but can still wear out...
