It would make sense that your oil warning would come on at idle rather than at higher revs. The reason is that oil pressure increases with engine speed. You might want to take off your valve cover to see what is happening on the top side of the engine. Its really easy to do (you could do it in your parking lot), just make sure that you have a new valve cover gasket on hand.
