I just took my car to Scott Saab today to have them figure out why i shread belts every other week. I was told that my a/c compressor is siezing up and caused the cluch to go bad. They quoted $1400.00 to replace the compressor and fan belt with oem parts. I had them put my car back together and give me the keys at that point

I find this hard to believe because my a/c works fine when it is turned on. (i live in florida, so the fact that it is January has no realevence) I would think that if the clutch was frozen that I would get cold from the vents whether the a/c switch was on or not.

Any ideas
