The modern Saab headlight washers have their own high pressure pump, not just the normal squirt like the windshield, and are quite effective with the new sturdier lexan headlight lenses. The wipers were constantly getting snagged and broken and require fragile glass headlight lenses.

IMHO the steering wheel paddles are just a gimmick. What's more important is a good slap shifter like any 9-3SS has. My shift brain isn't wired to my finger tips, it's wired to my right arm which makes manually shifting a 9-3SS Sentronic slap shifter second nature. That's one failing of the 9-5, no slap shifter.

You could have the steering wheel paddles installed on any 9-3SS without, but you don't really need 'em.
