These vehicles can be very hit and miss in terms of reliability. I've gone very long periods with no problems whatsoever, but then again I've had several major problems happen in a short period of time. I think the main comment I would have for a college student is that these are fairly complex cars, if you're not able to do the work yourself, you have to be prepared for some big expenses when things do go wrong. And life can be made a lot easier by having a good independent mechanic, who knows Saabs extremely well, that you can trust. If you decide to take the plunge, make sure you take the car to someone who knows Saabs for a full check over prior to making a commitment. I would also read through some of the posts here to give you a better idea. This board can be an amazing resource.
