Thanks Dean. I do believe my dealer is now using synthetic oil based on the price, and I bring the car in every 5K for oil changes. I recall doing a double take a couple of years ago for the cost of an oil change, and I vaguely remember them telling me they went to full synthetic, hence to cost increase. I'll try the techron. My biggest concern was the potential that this was a known significant problem. Based on the lack of concern here, I'll assume I can try techron, and then take it to my indy to check at the next oil change.


Is it true what Talledega stated? Does the AC compressor cycle on and off even if the econ is on? I checked again this morning, and had the same issue and had the AC OFF and did not hear the radiator fan on.
