I had a similar problem. The lip on the top of the radio near the back was catching on the SID unit. I took a thin flexible plastic ruler and slid it inbetween the radio and the SID unit. This lifted the SID just enough so that the radio was able to slide out completely.
I put black electrical tape on the seam on top of the radio before re-installing the radio to avoid the problem the next time I remove the radio.
