Hey everyone, when I left work my 1999 9.3 wouldn't start! I keep a DI unit in the hatch & I replaced it & the car started! But now I have some questions!
1) I tried to start the motor 3-4 times before replacing the DI, do I need to worry about my cat due to unburned fuel?
2) on startup the rpm's reached nearly 3000 & idling at a red light the idle would rise to 2000 for a bit before dropping to 1000. sometimes though at idle it would fluctuate between 1500-2000, going vroom vroom vroom etc.
3) I did not have any dielectric grease or new sparkplugs, can I replace them now (within 20 miles) without ill effect?
no check engine light but I disconnected the battery during the procedure, I drove home about 10 miles & nothing - I'm not sure how long it would take to come on though.
