Stuttering would be mis-fire and AF meter should show the unburnt fuel.
Old plugs were abnormal?
T7 IDM/DIC can misfire when failing, not always sudden death. Can you borrow another IDM to eval?
I guess that the ECU could open the BPV (bypass vavle, no blow off valve) if it was dealing with an overboost situation. An overboost in T7 will trigger a limp home mode which resets with the next startup. The limp home may disable the BPV control solenoid valve.
Do you have an over-adjusted SMBC?
