There's one other thing you might want to check. You said that you could only get air to blow at your feet. The directional air-flow knob on the right has a very funky plastic actuator rod that attaches to the back of it. One end grabs the back of the directional control knob and the other end, going toward the firewall, engages the piece that manually controls the damper doors. If someone re-wired you seat switches incorrectly, the front of that dash was off at some point in time. This weird little actuator rod can break, but if care was not taken in putting the dash pieces back together, it's extremely easy to have one end of the actuator rod come loose, not allowing you to direct airflow. You should be able to determine if it's attached by removing the trim piece that's just to the left of the passenger's left foot. This should give you a good view of the rod and what's going on inside. If it's merely detached and not broken, you can carefully get it back in place and at least have one problem out of the way.
