That is expensive - you should be able to find one used if needed, should you trust the dealer that diagnosed it. Over the years I have had a few seat problems and as mentioned the Memory button where the cause. But usually when they malfunction it caused the seat to move in an on/off 1 second movement. But the memory switch may be removed easily by just hooking your finger around the forward side of the seat housing holding the switch and pressing against the switch forward side. Thin fingers work better. Once switch is lifted up it is easily disconnected and will be eliminated from system. Usually the memory switches short from oxidization and override the seat directional switches. Sometimes being dangerous while driving.
Another thing to check is if the seat power relay is working. Open door and press and the door switch that activates when door is open and closed. You will hear a relay clicking under the seat. If not you have an issue. When door is open seat becomes movable electrically with the activation of this relay. The relay will also time out and become inactive after a minute and can be reset by pressing the door switch. Here is the web address to some one having trouble with this relay.

When I have had electrical trouble, a schematic has always helped, I myself was able to obtain one for my car from the Autozone DIY website at a cost.
Good luck
