...one more time by a mechanic you trust. As several posters mentioned, with all that work done, you're probably in pretty good shape. Around 100k is where a lot of things just plain wear out. I find the turbo is pretty strong; but if you can't do a few DIY things, repairs can get costly. OTOH, you might get another 50,000 trouble free miles.

Don't know how old your son is, but I wouldn't worry too much about the turbo "rush." I'd worry more about good brakes, steering and tires.

I don't think 5,000 is too much money. With old Saabs, history is everything. This board is a wonderful resource, too, so you won't be alone...
