OK, that was a trick... but it sounds exciting, no?
Just wondering if anyone out there is offering custom ECU's aimed at optimizing gas mileage rather than performance? Saw an article in a Hot Rod magazine about a guy using all the traditional methods of gaining HP (cam profile, fuel system mods, intake and exhaust porting, etc) with the goal being to maintain reasonable performance while greatly improving mpg.
Got me thinking the same might be do-able on our cars via custom ECU. If a custom ECU can bring a Viggen from 230hp to 300hp, perhaps it's possible to do a Viggen ECU that provides 200hp while delivering 40mpg highway.
Thoughts?
