I switched from a 90' Jeep Grand Wagoneer to a 96' 900s as my everyday vehicle.
The converitble is much quieter than the old jeep. But then I think most anything is.
The convetible top is well insulated. I live in S. Fl and do not have a problem cooling the car. The kids say the back sear area if fine. However, I need to run the a/c fan at the highest speed to cool the back seat area on hot sunny days. My windows are not tinted and tinting would help alot.
I have the 2.3L non-turbo with 5sp manual transmission. When running the a/c I find the power lacking and my gas mileage drops from 23/24 to 19/20 driving in the city. Highway driving it drops from 33/34 to 31/32.
The 900s suspension is soft but congestion in the city (90% of my driving) does not make this an issue. And it would not be fair to compare the suspension in the Jeep with the convertible.
For my last 2 camping trips with the kids, I used the Saab instead of the Jeep. With the top down I was still able to get the camping gear in the trunk.
