Can the connector cause intermitten off?

Greg, does the cabin fan get very hot? Enough to melt/burn plastic?
This morning, immediate after starting the car and turning the fan full blast (car frozen in Michigan), I get the strong burnt smell immediately, so I don't think its the PCV valve (per Dean's suggestion). I also checked the valve cover immediately and its not off. I also don't smell anything in that area.

I didn't sniff anything else because it was cold... I'll sniff around some more

I know that after driving for over an hour or so, the smell is not noticable anymore. However, if I stop for a bit, and start the car again, I smell it again. (So its strongest during startup).

I'll check the connector this or next weekend. (Its too cold to do anything outdoors)
