Hi all-
I am trying to get this mod to work.
In fact, when I was testing the mod, with the casing apart and really just the boards connected together, everything worked fine. Thanks Dimitry!
However, when I put the unit back together and test it again, the head unit cycles through looking for a tape, tape forward, tape reverse. While the head unit is doing this, I can hear my music playing off the ipod, but then the head unit display NO TAPE.
The only difference I can tell from be6tween the tests is that one the first run, the tape unit internals were, for lack of a better term, "collapsed." Now, the tape unit internals are more rectangular, as if there were a tape inside.
I cannot insert a tape, and the eject button did not register or reset the tape device.
Any ideas on how to get the tape unit into a state where the ipod will work again is much appreciated.
Shawn
