Today it's much cooler than yesterday and raining, but still warm. I checked the pressures again. It read 5 psi with the compressor off and NOT higher than 15 with it on.
I added one bottle of R-134a. It read an average of about 22 psi after that. 25 psi while the compressor ran, and about 19 psi when it cycled off.
I'm nervous about adding any more before I check the pressure in 90 degree + weather, like I did yesterday.
What causes this variation in pressures? I know temp can effect it, but this is a HUGE variation between yesterday and today! Should I be thinking expansion valve?
This car is being retired this summer, so I'm trying to fix this for as little $$ as possible. Getting a 9-5 Aero wagon...Yahooooo! (Actually my wife is getting an Aero, I'm getting her '04 Volvo,....sigh.)
