With the Koni's you get an impossible to tighten insert retaining nut. I used loctite on that. With the OEM nut, you have a good chance of getting it tight. Loctite will do no harm, but was not needed when assembled at the factory.
If the opposite tire is in the ground, that end of the swaybar is held 'up'. When you get the ball joint tapered shaft free, you need to push down the control arm to get it out of the hub, then the hub can be pulled out off of the spine shaft and the top mount nuts removed and the strut lowered and removed. The sway bar will fight your attempt to push down on the control arm to get the ball joint taper shaft out of the hole. The swaybar attaches to the control arm with a small ball joint. If the nut will not come free, you can try the other side. I expect that removing one one side will make the job easy on both sides. If you were to pop both ball joints at the same time, then things might be simple that way too.
