Moving engine over to pull timing cover

I know some people have done this to get to the timing and balance chains guides (moving the engine towards the driver's side). I've searched the board but I can't find what I'm looking for (probably just me not putting in the right phrase).
So these are my questions:
- Does the oil pan or subframe need to come off or drop down?
- Does the passenger side driveshaft have to come out of the driver cup or does the ball joint need to be disconnected to allow the engine to shift over?
- Does the engine need to be dropped down a little to get into replace the chains and guides?
As I remember from posts I saw on the subject before I need to loosen the motor mounts but don't remove the nuts/bolts.
Does anyone have a link to the procedure or does anyone care to post it? :-)
Thanks!
If anyone is curious; I'm replacing the timing chain, guides (worn), sprockets (uppers look iffy), and removing the balance chain while I'm in there. Once I get the cover off and get enough access it should be pretty straightforward, I've done a number of these on 99s and C900s, just no balance chains yet.
