Hello everybody
I have been looking at a 2000 viggen for sale in my area and finally test drove it today. It seemed like it had some engine noise, but it turned out to be the AC compressor. Does the AC compressor on the 9-3 usually make a racket that sounds like, i dunno, misfiring? The noise went away when the AC was turned off. I could hear this noise again when accelerating hard in 2nd gear. The salesman didn't seem to concerned about it.
He was, however, surprised at how sluggish the car felt in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears. They are putting it in the shop to have the possible engine trouble looked at. Thinking back, we didn't try to accelerate without the AC turned on to see if that was holding the car back at all.
There is also a small issue with the HVAC display itself. For lack of a better description, two of the lighted areas don't work on the temperature readout. I am assuming that this would require replacement of the unit, correct?
Thanks in advance
