Just a little update to let the curious know what condition the trans is in after I lost reverse immediately after changing the ATF. I took The 1996 900SET w/147km to a trans shop where they removed and disassembled the transmission. Apparently it needs a complete rebuild including a new torque converter to the tune of $1275, ouch. As I mentioned in my previous post the transmission shifted and drove before changing the ATF. It certainly was not great and it seemed to me like the TC was not letting go at stops or when slowing down but it did work. I am pretty convinced the new fluid killed an already ailing slush box. But then again maybe it was going to go soon anyway. If I could have done it over again I would not have changed the ATF and at least saved myself the $ in new fluid and the hassle.
