I have an '01 Viggen with a disinegrated #1 piston. This is the second motor in the car, last motor blew #1 cylinder piston rings. I've been told to flow test the injector in that cylinder. The mods- Powerchip 91gold ecu upgrade, abbot dump valve, K&N air filter, saab sport exhaust(is that stock?). I do drive the vehicle spiritedly at times, but responsibly, nothing any other Saab driver doesn't do, I haven't raced it. May be a combo of the mods and a faulty injector causing #1 cylinder to run lean and generate a bunch of extra heat? I'm looking for some advice on making this vehicle a bit more reliable, and also looking for a motor. Not having much luck finding a decent B235R for a Viggen, tried all the major recyclers in the US I could find out about, Goldwing, Saab in Racho Cordova, Scanwest, a few others I can't remember... and my mechanic's source is coming up dry too. I've heard that you can put a B235R from an Aero in it, but some modification is involved. Could anyone give a bit of detail on this swap? Any advice would be appreciated, I'm probably going to sell the vehicle after I fix it, and I don't want to sell someone a car that's just going to blow up again... I've put a bunch of money into the car already, hate to see it wasted.
