Pulled the trigger on a 99 Viggen! Posted by sjjon1 [Email] (#313) [Profile/Gallery] (more from sjjon1) on Tue, 24 Jun 2008 06:34:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Well I was a huge saab fan with my first two cars (95 9000 and 99 9-5) but then went astray for awhile and had a few Audi's (currenly selling my 04 S4) porsches, and dare i say it, a BMW. Anyway, finally gave in and bought the car I always wanted, a blue 99 viggen 3-door! can't wait to pick it up and already have a laundry list of items i'll be working on in the first week or two, let me know if you guys have any further suggestions as far as things to replace while i'm ordering things.
Also, whats the best place to order parts from? I've been on geniunesaab but don't know the part numbers for some of the suff i want. Does anybody have an online tech manual where I could get part numbers for?
FYI, Car has 86k
Laundry list.
New Rear Bumper (scratched up)
Door Ding removal service
New plugs
New Brakes all around (rotors, pads, stainless lines)
New Shocks (i'm thinkin koni)
New Springs (want to lower very little, just want front and back to be level)
Valve cover gasket (where to buy?)
Oil change
Trans fluid change
new Bypass valve
E-code headlights
New Saab emblems
New Set of Viggen wheels/tires (plan on using current rims for winter)
New floor mats
Ipod connector for stereo
I am lucking out though because the guy i'm buying it from already has the stage 2 kit so the car will come with: Stage 2 chip, fuel pressure regulator, rear sway bar, steering rack brace, exhaust.
Future plans will be:
6-pt brace
new clutch
LSD
Intake
New turbo (anyone have any idea on cost, i'll be installing myself, just need the part)
Hydraulic clutch kit (maybe, we'll see)
new DI cartridge to have as spare
well, i'm glad to be back home in a saab, also if anyone in the New Jersey/Philadelphia ever needs a hand with their car or wants to meet up feel free to contact me, would be glad to help, i'm just a weekend mechanic and an engineer by day but have access to a lift and will work for beer.
